We Are Paradoxx - Supernova
The inconvenience of travelling with multiple hair styling products drove one founder to create her own!
Due to the highly competitive and diverse nature of the hair and beauty market, the device aesthetics needed to appeal to a broad user group. This led to several iterations with considered textures, finish, and colour to achieve the premium feel. Prototyping and repeated user testing led us to a soft touch finish for the main body of the device, adding to both the appearance and ergonomics in terms of tactility and control.
Multiple manufacturing methods were used to arrive at the finished result including injection moulding with high-performance polymers, die casting, press forming and compression moulding. Supernova was nominated for the Vogue Beauty Awards in 2020 & shortlisted for STYLE - The Sunday Times Beauty Awards in the same year.
