Ulster University - Future Island-Island (Rathlin)
Design-led investigation on an AHRC funded project, with one of the UK's four new Green Transition Ecosystems (GTEs).
The BIGsmall team have been engaged on this project since October 2023, and over the next 18 months will work together with the island community and other project partners, on sustainable resource management & an improvement in public engagement.
GTEs aim to translate design-led research into real-world benefits, concentrating on the challenges posed by climate change. Rathlin has a net zero target of 2030, which is two decades ahead of the regional target of 2050.
